Board Proposes Amended Bylaws

The Oregon chapter is completing the paperwork to register the chapter as a tax exempt organization under Federal IRS Rules. It is already registered as a non-profit public benefit corporation under the laws of the State of Oregon.

In completing this documentation, certain modifications were found to be necessary in the bylaws to meet the requirements of State law, IRS regulations and the chapter requirements for the international association.  The proposed amendments have been review by IPMA-HR staff. At a board meeting this morning, the Chapter Board acted to submit the proposed changes to the membership for approval.

Ballots on the proposed amendments will be sent to the members via e-mail shortly. Members are asked to return their ballots electronically by August 30.

A red-lined copy of the proposed amendments is available in PDF format.

Board Recommends New Board Seat and Candidate

Ballots on the proposed additional seat on the board and the election of a director to fill it will be sent electronically to the chapter membership shortly.

Jim Loeffler, IPMA-CP, has been Human Resources Director for the City of Oregon City since June 2008.  Prior to joining Oregon City, Jim worked in Human Resources for Multnomah County and facilitated undergraduate Management and Communications courses for University of Phoenix, Portland campus.  He has more than 32 years of public service in both federal and local government in various capacities throughout the world.  He has a Master of Science Degree in Human Resources Management Systems from Chapman University and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the U. Giving and Receiving Feedback Seminar September 14

The Oregon Chapter of IPMA HR kicks off its yearly training calendar with a half-day seminar on Giving and Receiving Feedback.  The session will be held from 8-11:30 a.m. at the Tualatin Police Department, 8650 SW Tualatin Road, Tualatin.

The presenters will be Jill Goldsmith, J.D. and Judy Clarke, partners in the firm Goldsmith and Clarke, Inc.

Jill and Judy both believe the reason we work is to achieve business goals, but no one will thrive – including the business – if our working relationships aren’t productive and healthy.  Jill and Judy help organizations understand what doesn’t work (and why it doesn’t work) and learn what does work.  Judy and Jill work with organizations to build trust and personal accountability to achieve mission objectives.  Everyone has the responsibility and capacity to build trust, personal accountability and integrity in the workplace – Judy and Jill create the context to make it happen and build your best workplace today.
